DESCRIPTION:

Using Garamond typeface as the subject, a magazine spread was created with dramatic hierarchy through size, shape, and color. The large lowercase “g” is created with multi-colored outlines and is cropped off the edges of the page. The scale and placement of the “g” creates the illusion that it is set back behind everything else. The rest of the word in black appears to come forward as it overlaps with the transparent date. By incorporating color from the first page, both spreads become unified. The structure and layout of text columns creates a clean and justified finished product.
